The 54th annual Conejo Valley Days will run from April 28 through May 2 at Conejo Creek Park South in Thousand Oaks, CA.  The midway for the event is provided by Shamrock Shows of Fontana, CA.  This year's midway will include a Mark 1 Roller Coaster and a number of new kiddie rides.

Also in California, the Lompoc Valley Spring Arts Festival at Ryon Park opens this weekend.  The 24th annual event runs April 23-April 25.  Butler Amusements is providing 19 rides for the midway, which opens today at 1:30 p.m.

Thomas D. Thomas Shows is featured in an article by Eric Freeman in the Columbus Telegram.  The carnival will be set up in the Union Pacific/City Parking Lots in Columbus, Nebraska this weekend, April 23-25.  New carnival rides to the Thomas midway this year are a Wisdom Tornado and a Paratrooper.

Opening in Rochester, New Hampshire this weekend is D & L Amusements.  The April 23-25 event will be held in front of the Community Center on Wakefield Street.  A portion of the carnival's proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army.

The Westby Times of Westby, Wisconsin reports that the town will be hosting a carnival as part of its Syttende Mai celebrations May 14-16.  Celebrated in the US by communities with strong Norwegian ties, Syttende Mai (translated May 17) marks the day Norway signed its constitution in 1814.  The Westby celebration will be played by Chippewa Valley Rides and include 14 rides, plus kiddie rides.

Tom Gaylin, President of Rosedale Attractions and Shows was featured in an April 22 Baltimore Sun article by Chris Kaltenbach.  The article, entitled Carnival Rides = Summer Fun highlighted the anticipation for the carnival rides at the upcoming Our Lady of Mount Carmel Spring Festival in Essex Maryland.  The event, played by Rosedale Attractions, will be held April 30 through May 2.
