10 people rescued when a Sky Wheel stopped working in mid-operation Thursday evening at a Los Angeles festival.   KTLA News reports that the Los Angeles City Fire Department was called to the event at Hollywood High School at 7:42.  Firefighters assisted the riders off the Wheel via arial ladder.  There were no injuries and the scene was described as "calm and orderly."  The event was part of opening ceremonies for Toy Story 3.

The Florida State Fairgrounds are being evaluated for major re-development.  According to the St. Petersburg Times, "the fear of another poor fair season has driven the Florida State Fair officials to study the possibility of large-scaled development at the fairgrounds near Tampa."  Consultant Charlie Smith will conduct a 30-day site study.

The San Diego County Fair kicked off Friday, June 11.  The event will run until Monday, July 5.  Read July's issue of Carnival Magazine for more information on the Fair.
