KMG XLR8 Premieres in Europe
KMG XLR8 Premieres in Europe
The new KMG ride ‘XLR8’ appeared on its first midway on April 5. It was delivered to its owner, Mr. Jarno Otten the day before. According to Peter Theunisz of KMG, "The ride was received very well on its premiere day...Riders from 1.40 to 2.00 meters rode the 'XLR8' and there were several repeat riders. The owner, Mr. Jarno Otten was very satisfied after the Easter weekend and said that the ride did very well considering the low numbers of visitors due to bad weather."
Peter notes that 'XLR8's easy setup system allowed it to be setup up in a matter of hours after it arrived. KMG describes the ride in a recent press release:
A great innovation to the amusement ride industry is that this prototype ‘XLR8’ is the very first transportable amusement ride with a self controlled ‘rechargeable’ power system. This power system will help to meet the demand for power in order to achieve the expected acceleration. During deceleration the returned energy will be stored in built in Super Caps (capacitors), so the ‘XLR8’ can use it’s own generated power time after time. This way the prototype can be connected to a 63 Amp and will use 80 Amps together with all LED’s instead of 400 Amps. This is world’s first ‘green’ ride! The LED light package makes this ride a great eye catcher on every fairground and we all know environmental- and economical benefits of LED lighting, The ‘XLR8’ is set up in Velp (near Nijmegen) from April 11 till 15. After that the ride will play at the major Queen’s Birthday fair of Rotterdam from April 21 till May 6. Already some interested buyers reported to KMG that they will visit the Rotterdam fair to see the ‘XLR8’ in life.
April 5, 2012: the brand new KMG amusement ride ‘XLR8’ made it’s first runs at the Easter Fair in Drachten, Netherlands.
You can also watch some of KMG's videos of the ‘XLR8’ on Youtube.com:
Brochures and information on our website www.kmg.nl will be added soon.
